When you wake up each day you have the opportunity to be greater than you were the day before. Knowing where you strengths lie is the biggest advantage you have when you are carving your path in your business, career, and personal life. A lot of times you get bogged down what is going wrong that you forget to operate in your strengths which is what you are most known for. Guess what?!?!?!?That is your PERSONAL BRAND.
Pushing past your comfort zone is scary. But you have to forge your weaknesses and take a risk at trying something new. You probably are asking what does that men? See, a lot of time you do what is comfortable and rely solely on your strengths and give little thought to your weakness because you are afraid of failure. However, you are already good at what you do even when you never step out of your norm to do something different. Your room for improvement sets you up to realize you’re great. This is uncomfortable at times because you are your worst critic but when you look over your areas of growth and take charge of your output, you soon shake the room and increase your productivity.
So how do establish your personal brand in your career?
-Apply for the job that has been calling your name and update your resume. Stop selling yourself short of an opportunity because you don’t feel like you’re ready. See when you push yourself to see your growth and your need for more is sitting on your shoulders, that is the time to strike. The list of skills you have match the requirements and responsibilities that stare you in the face, but fear has you paralyzed. Go for it anyways because you are meant to stand out, and it’s an opportunity to practice what you preach.
-Share your skills and talents with the people you are most in contact with that support your vision and dreams. You make your work look easy and when asked about your processes, don’t be afraid to open up. People around you really admire you and watch everything that you do hoping to learning something new. Each one, teach one builds connections and open doors that you could not have imagined. You don’t have to become a “know-it-all” or even a yes person, but you can lend your skills to your career and work environment that showcases your abilities. For every new skill that you that you acquire, you are able to add a booster to what you have mastered. Even in your confidence, that becomes a part of your brand. So being prosocial can get your name spoken highly in rooms and invitations to be a part of masterminds, simply because you shared.
-Personal Development. What you feed your mind, you become and in your career, your mind has to be stronger that your feelings. Your faith and belief system drives your existence as you research ways to enhance your quality of life. Read and listen to information that fuels your fire to be present and productive in life. Don’t settle for mediocrity.
There will be shifts in your opportunities to grow, you just need to prepare yourself for when the opportunities present themselves. Continuing to do the work on yourself makes you a better person. It will not happen overnight. You build your brand by staying true yourself and operating in the mastery and knowledge you hav acquired and put to use.
